March 2025
I like the slow comfort of winter - the grainy, underexposed quality of the day, the softness around all the edges in my life. I’ve been standing in front of the easel, pushing paint in hopes my hand can read my mind. I’ve gotten a lot done the past few months but I’m not sure what it was.
“In winter, I plot and plan. In spring, I move.”
Good Luck | 12 x 16 in. | Oil on Canvas Panel
New Work is Good Luck - First painting of the new year and the first of what I hope will be many collaborations with the local Santa Clara Pueblo Indians. Thanks to Leah for lending her authentic self (and her traditional wardrobe and jewelry).
Spring Show - Good Luck and Azúcar de Sandía are heading to the MasterWorks of New Mexico show March 21 - April 13. Come by and check them out if you have the time.
Marvin Travels to London - My portrait of Marvin has made it to the second round of judging for The Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award at The National Portrait Gallery in London. Wish us luck! Hopefully I’ll be heading to London this summer to visit Marvin in the show.
Spring is here. Time to get moving!
